PRE-STAT
The Preventive Crime Statistics Database (in Hungarian: PRE-STAT) application is one of the results of the project “Crime Prevention with GIS Tools” implemented with the support of the Ministry of Interior and the National Crime Prevention Council. Application development and operation tasks are performed by the Lechner Knowledge Center Non-profit Ltd. (hereinafter: Lechner Non-profit Ltd.).
The primary purpose of the application is to support the planning, coordination and execution of the crime prevention tasks of the police by providing GIS and other analytical tools. The application allows the display of social, economic and criminal data on maps and graphs at different territorial levels for a defined time interval.
In addition to the primary user group, the application's public data modules also provide useful features for residential users.
PRE-STAT uses the following data according to the source database:
- Unified Criminal Statistics of the Investigating Authority and the Prosecutor's Office (in Hungarian: ENyÜBS): criminal statistics at the municipal, district, county, regional and national levels from the 1st of January 2010, in monthly breakdown.
- Robotzsaru integrated administration, case processing and electronic records management system (in Hungarian: Robotzsaru): point-like, geocoded crime data from the 1st of January 2010, in daily breakdown by exact hour and minute.
- National Regional Development and Spatial Planning Information System (TeIR): socio-economic statistical data at the municipal, district, county, regional and national levels from the 1st of January 2010, by year.
In addition to residential users, the users of the application include employees of the Ministry of Interior, the National Crime Prevention Council, the National Police Headquarters, the county police headquarters, and the local police headquarters and police stations.
Depending on the access level, the users of the application can be:
- Full access:
- Ministry of Interior and the National Crime Prevention Council
- the National Police Headquarters
- county police headquarters
- local police offices, police stations
- Restricted access:
- residential and other users
Features:
- Creating thematic maps
- at municipal, district, county, regional or police level,
- from absolute and specific economic, social and crime statistics
- for any date or period.
- Display data on a chart, even comparing the values of several territorial levels or territorial units.
- Point-to-point map display of street-level crime data using a variety of methods.
The availability of features depends on accessibility: users with full access can use all modules of the application, while those with restricted access are limited due to the sensitivity of point data.
No separate registration is required to use the application.
