About Us
Who are we?
Lechner Knowledge Center is a state-owned company that manages and analyzes the national geospatial databases, offering data services to public administration, urban planning and agricultural purposes, as well as for the general population. We are especially dedicated to supporting the Hungarian citizens in the fields of remote sensing, land registry and construction.
Our vision: By automatizing procedures, we are building a fast-track lane to land administration, land registry and residential environment matters for citizens who are unnecessarily waiting in the administration line, thereby providing quality time for those who have to.
Our priority tasks include e-administration, as well as developing, operating and providing professional system support for the e-utility and other applications supporting the electronization of construction matters. We support the government offices in carrying out their construction authority tasks by developing and operating a uniform IT infrastructure and electronic services.
We process and evaluate geospatial and earth observation data collected by remote sensing processes, including satellite images, aerial photos and orthophotos. We participate in monitoring land cover and its changes in Hungary and Europe, creating digital relief and surface models, land coverage and land use maps. We also perform authority tasks in the fields of land surveying, geoinformatics and land registry. We operate and develop Hungary’s uniform land registry system and the GNSSnet.hu real-time satellite positioning system. Our specialists also perform tasks relating to state borders and geodetic control points, and we as a land surveying and geoinformatics state administrative body maintain and provide data from national databases.
