Cultural Heritage Protection Expert Tasks
The Cultural Heritage Expert Department of the Directorate for Cultural Heritage Protection is responsible for carrying out the cultural heritage protection expert and professional scientific tasks of the Prime Minister’s Office. The Department is working according to the relevant legislation.

Act LXIV of 2001 on the protection of cultural heritage
Government Decree 68/2018 (9 April) on rules for the protection of cultural heritage
Government Decree 378/2016 (2 December) on the succession of certain central offices and ministerial background institutions operating in the form of budgetary bodies, and on the taking over of certain public functions
Government Decree 313/2012 (8 November) on the Construction Documentation and Information Centre and the Registry of Construction
Government Decree 487/2013 (17 December) on the detailed rules for the construction examination and further training of civil servants and government officials employed in the building, building control and heritage protection authorities
Our tasks:
• Tasks within the scope of the Minister's official duties relating to the heritage register conducting expert on-site visits related to archeological heritage and historic monument values, carrying out data verification and data recording of the concerned buildings;
• taking of the scientific preliminary steps in declaring or withdrawing protected status of monuments, carrying out expert tasks related to monuments protection. As part of this conducting of research on construction history, preparing of expert opinions on value assessment and protection, , furthermore compiling scientific documents on the history of buildings and preparing inventories of monuments;
• providing expertise in the field of classification and valuation of monuments; as defined in Article 71. § (1) paragraph of the Act LXIV of 2001 on the Protection of Cultural Heritage, contributing to the maintenance and development of the register and carrying out administrative duties related to data supply. These tasks are performed in connection with the operation of the publicly recorded digital register supervised by the minister responsible for the protection of the cultural heritage.
The minister in the framework of cultural heritage and world heritage tasks which does not take place in the exercise of public authority
The Cultural Heritage Expert Department provides expert opinion and shall also act as cultural heritage expert.
Expert support for heritage protection management tasks
The Directorate for Cultural Heritage Protection, in the framework of expert support for heritage protection management tasks, it carries out the heritage protection expert control over the reports on activities carried out together with necessary on the spot supervisions.
Expert support for the Construction Documentation and Information Centre
The tasks of Construction Documentation and Information Centre which are related to the National Collection of Architectural Plans, are supported by the expert opinion of Cultural Heritage Protection Department.
