Short description of project:

The project consists of four interrelated development components:

  1. Within the NATURA component, enhancing through field research the long-term conservation of particularly endangered local natural assets, including many species and habitats of community importance;
  2. Within the ECOSYSTEM SERVICES programme, mapping and assessing on a national level both the natural and the near-natural ecosystems and priority services;
  3. Within the LANDSCAPE component, developing a system of landscape character-based classification of Hungarian landscapes, as well as a unified methodology and database for landscape character-based planning and decision-making;
  4. Within the GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE program, identifying the elements of green infrastructure, evaluating their conditions and developing Hungary's green infrastructure development plan in order to create and preserve a functioning network of local natural and near-natural areas.
