Ortophotos

Orthophotos are photographs that are geometrically corrected ("orthorectified") so that the scale is uniform: the photo or image follows a given map projection. Ortorectification eliminates image distortions  inherent in photography. Ortophotos may contain territories corrected and resampled by the Hungarian Military Mapping Agency. The ortohpotos  are available in native or reduced resolution tif or jpg format, with RGB, CIR, or RGBI colour depth.

Aerial images

In 2000, 2005 and 2015, a series of aerial photographs were taken covering the complete territory of the country. Between 2007 and 2014, ortophotos were taken in a 4-year period, since 2016 in a 3-year period. Ortophotos taken between 2015 and 2017 and in 2019 in a period of leafless vegetation are available in the territory of selected District offices in 20 cm resolution.

Topographic map

Topographic maps graphically represent the surface of Hungary in scales 1:10 000, 1:25 000, 1:100 000 and 1:200 000, applying colours and symbols to describe natural and artificial objects. These map sheets serve as a basis for general registration and planning tasks.
LTK is responsible for the service  of 1:10 000 scale topographic maps, while lower scale maps are provided by the Mapping Agency of the Hungarian Home Defence Forces.

Elevation data

The contour lines and the Digital Elevation Model describe the elevation information of the surface of the Earth. The Digital and Colorized Digital Surface Model describes the elevation relations between the surface and any kind of permanent or temporary coverage, natural or man-made terrain feature at the moment the photographs were taken. The Normalized Digital Surface Model shows the difference of the surface and terrain model.

Geodetic control points

Control points are easily identifiable, well-determined terrain marks with sufficiently accurate position data in a defined coordinate reference system. Control points are distinguished by their purpose (horizontal, vertical), order (accuracy) and coordinate reference system (EOVA, OGPSH, EOMA, Bendefy).

Hungarian Gazetteer

The currently available medium-scale version of the Hungarian Gazetteer (FNT1) contains 40 types of geographic names, including settlements, parts of settlements, landscape features, nature conservation areas, vegetation units (ridges, forests, etc.), relief and hydrography, significant points usually marked on maps (ruins, lookout towers, castles etc.) and names of certain important traffic objects. Depending on the geographic structure of the surface, the frequency of names corresponds to 1:25 000 – 1: 50 000 scales.

Administrative Boundaries of Hungary

This database contains data on the administrative boundaries of Hungary on several levels: settlements, districts, counties, regions and country. These data are available for purchase  separately.

Data of the Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS)

The Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS-HU) is the obligated reference, parcel identification and geoinformation system for agricultural and rural development subsidies, financed by EU and national sources. LPIS’s basic data include the boundaries of physical blocks and areas non-eligible for subsidy, as well as the unique ID of the physical blocks and area data. The following thematic layers are available for purchase: boundaries of water erosion affected areas (slope above 12%); boundaries of sloping areas above 17%; waterlog risk areas; drought risk areas; erosion risk areas.

Geoid databases for the territory of Hungary (HGEO2000 and HGGG2000)

The database contains the gravimetric HGEO2000 and the GPS-gravimetric quasi geoid information for the area of Hungary in digital format on a 1.5’x1.5’ (approx. 2x2 km) grid. The HGGG2000 solution is an improved version of the gravimetric geoid HGEO2000 solution, which was fitted to the levelled OGPSH points. The reference system is ETRS89.

Special requests

With the goal of establishing long-term cooperation, LTK contracts for the development and operation of individual geoinformatic systems for state administration bodies, large companies and SMEs. Based on the partner’s needs, LTK provides raster and vector data with additional information (attributes) in WMS or web application service by spatial localization or text-based queries.
